SUMMARY:The Wonderful World of Woodpeckers at Wild Birds Unlimited Frisco
DTSTAMP:20261015T060851Z
DTSTART:20241102T150000Z
DTEND:20241102T163000Z
DESCRIPTION:Woodpeckers are favorite birds for many people because they are
not hard to see\; they usually move slowly enough that we can keep up wit
h them! Luckily\, they can easily be lured into our yards with a bit of sh
rub and tree cover\, and the right kinds of feeders. This program will int
roduce you to the species that have been recorded in North America and in
our North Texas region. Did you know there are more species of woodpeckers
here in the wintertime? – that’s when we add Sapsuckers and Flickers to t
he mix! Join our friends and resident experts Carolyn and Jerri as they te
ach us about these amazing birds. Carolyn Oldham and Jerri Kerr are long-t
ime birding friends and active members of the Prairie and Timbers Audubon
Society in Collin County. They have traveled extensively in the U.S. to ob
serve birds and hopefully add new ones to their life-lists. They are dedic
ated wildlife gardeners and have plants and feeders to attract birds\, but
terflies\, bees and other pollinators. Call 214-407-7625 to RSVP for this
great event! The Community Calendar is provided as a community service to
citizens and businesses within Frisco and the surrounding community. Event
s posted on this calendar in the "Community" category are not Frisco Chamb
er events. Please contact the organization or organizers directly with que
	stions.
